We went to Thanksgiving Point's Farmland in March. They rode to ponies and fed some ducks and Kairi got so see her peacocks. She likes to think that the colorful ones are the boys and the white ones are the girls. I showed her the girl peacock which was in the little house, but she is sticking to her idea, ha ha.

Kairi's 4th Birthday

For Kairi's 4th birthday I had an "Adopt a Kitty" party. Kairi was so excited for this, I had most of the supplies ready a few weeks before and she would always sneak into them and start choosing out what she wanted when she adopted her kitty. She even started naming them things like "meowsy" and "snowball" and "cuters".
The adoption went by in stages. The first stage was to pick out your kitty, name it, and fill out an adoption certificate. Then you took it to the "vet" for a check up. You had to weigh your kitty, check all it's vitals and give it a vaccination. You filled out the report and took home some "vitamins"(swedish fish).
Then you took your kitty to the groomers where you washed your kitty in the tub (which also served as it's bed). And then you picked out supplies at the pet store. They got to pick out a collar with a charm, bedding with a blanket, a mouse toy, food bowl, and some kitty kibble (fish crackers) and milk (white jello).

Then they picked out a pet carrier box and got to color it and decorate it with stickers. I know she had a lot of fun, but probably not as much fun as I had putting this together ha ha.

Tracy Aviary

Jared got us the pass of all passes this year which includes free admition to Tracy Aviary during certain times, and this was our second visit. It was pretty freezing and I had a hard time thinking about all the birds that just lived out in the cold the whole time. I guess they get used to it. There were about a hundred ducks and these two huge swans that kept snaping at the ducks. And we spotted a peacock down in the ampatheater area and walked down there to get a closer look. Kairi has a huge fascintation with peacocks and was trying to pet his tail feathers when she tripped and landed on them. I felt so bad, but he seemed to be fine.

New Years 2012

We rang in the new year at Jamie's house where we had treats and sparkling cider and played games. I was pretty surprised at how long the kids lasted. Kairi was up until 11:30, and Kaden made it the whole way to midnight.

Gingerbread Houses

Gingerbread houses are one of Kaden's favorite holiday traditions. No matter how busy the season gets I always find time to do this. Kaden wouldn't let me forget anyway with his constant reminders. And since the kids don't care if it's made with real gingerbread we just use graham grackers, it doesn't have to take a lot of time and preparation.

You can tell they are so focused and really enjoy every moment of it.
